Scope 3 Management
Lean and Green Reductions of ‘Scope Three’ Emissions and Costs
With the new GHG Protocols now published ‘Scope Three’ emissions and costs are a new priority for companies in technology industry. TFI Environment has developed a consulting program to help: our Scope 3 program addresses the environmental impacts of employee travel and commutes, purchases and supply chains.
Successfully changing employee and supplier behavior to meet corporate sustainability goals, while at the same time significantly reducing costs, can be a challenging task. TFI’s extensive experience in engaging companies in Lean and Green practices will help you meet Scope 3 guidelines profitably. Below is a list of tasks we typically complete with our clients for reducing "Scope 3" emissions:
- Administer TFI-designed survey to measure the baseline of the client’s employee travel and commute, purchases, and supply-chain activity
- Conduct Lifecycle Analysis (LCA) on flagship product(s) as a baseline for supply-chain improvements.
- Analyze survey and LCA results and together with our client determine cost-reduction and emission-reduction strategies on a 5-year roadmap comprising reduction goals over time, policies, employee education / incentives (could be contests, stories, prizes, recognition, clubs, etc.), and high-ROI investments.
- Work hand-in-hand with an internal communications management to draft employee- and supplier-engagement vehicles: newsletter, placards, videos, contests, on-line resources, and/or other communications and expectations to reduce environmental impact and costs.
- Support the client in executing the 5-year roadmap, as needed: leading teams, bringing best practices, analyzing progress, generating publicity for measurable results, and coaching executives.
